Instruction Guide for Correct Application of Seam Sealing Tape
Our seam sealing tape delivers uncompromising quality and performance. Recent jacket inspections confirmed that leaks under wet conditions were not caused by the tape itself, but by incorrect application. When installed as directed in our Intro Guide, the tape provides durable waterproof protection.
Trust the right process for optimal results.
To ensure waterproof seams and prevent leakage, the tape must be applied according to the following points:
1. Prepare the seam
- Make sure the seam is clean and free from dust or oil.
- The fabric should lie flat without folds.
2. Position the tape correctly
- The tape must cover the entire seam intersection.
- The tape must completely cover the stitching thread – no threads should be visible.
- Avoid any threads hanging outside the tape.
3. Apply correct pressure and heat
- Follow the recommended temperature and pressure from the product specifications.
- Check that the tape has melted evenly without air bubbles.
4. Inspect the result
- Visually inspect all intersections and critical points.
- Perform a simple waterproof test before mass production.
