Tape that does not stick
Back in LOXY’s test lab it soon became clear where the bad adhesiveness came from.
One of Europe’s leading brands in professional workwear complained about seam sealing tapes that did not stick to the surface of the textile, causing leakage in rainy weather. This was a significant issue for their products, which are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions.
LOXY’s research and development team (R&D) first spent 2 weeks in the production plant to figure out what was causing the inconsistency of the products. They closely observed the production process, analyzed the materials used, and conducted a series of tests to identify the problem.
Back in our test lab, it became clear that shifting quality of the supplied fabrics was the reason for bad adhesiveness.
The fabrics used in production did not have consistent quality, leading to the seam sealing tapes not sticking properly. This resulted in the products not meeting the high standards the brand was known for.

Quality starts with consistency

To solve this issue, LOXYS collaborated with the suppliers to ensure a more consistent quality of the fabrics. They also implemented stricter quality controls in the production process to ensure that all materials met the necessary standards before being used in production.
Through these measures, LOXYS was able to improve the adhesion of the seam sealing tapes and ensure that their products could withstand even the most challenging weather conditions.
The solution was new requirement specifications for supplied fabrics and education of staff involved in design & production, resulting in consistent, high quality, products.
